It's for Paul McCartney's "Dance Tonight" off his new album. You can spot Gondry jamming on the drums (Paul is on guitar) at the end of the video. It seems reminiscent of "Dead Leaves and Dirty Ground", the video Gondry did for The White Stripes.
Also, a publicity picture have been released for "Be Kind, Rewind", the new Gondry movie staring Jack Black and Mos Def. The movie is set to premiere on April 4th 2008.
EDIT: I just found out that the ghost effect was done completely in camera! I think it is the same technique that Peter Jackson used with the burning pyre with Faromir (sp?) in "The Return of the King" (basically the actor was on unburning wood, and the fire was projected onto the image with mirrors). Don't quite get it, but dumb me, I assumed it was some sort of double exposure. The actors playing the ghosts were actually interacting (though probably offstage) with Paul McCartney. Also, the actor playing the mandolin girl is Natalie Portman. I hope this means that Gondry and Portman will be working together in the future.
