I finally have something to say for September. These disasters have been totally distracting. The hubbub has died down, but I was practically glued to the TV the past couple of weeks. It's funny that "officials" keep denying that the hurricanes are a symptom of global warming, but to me the connection seems suspicious. However, the real disaster was the shockingly poor government response. I knew things were going to be bad when the Prez was here in AZ giving a speech on Medicare to some seniors at a podunk trailer park the day Katrina hit. It's a nobrainer to actually be at the White House at least looking like you are in command when a natural disaster you know is coming is about to hit. The local, state, and federal governments all failed the people of New Orleans - they keep blaming one another, but they are all at fault. It'd be funny if so many people hadn't died.
